During the Annual Gathering and Council Meeting on Saturday October 21st, 2023 Ugu Sharon Carter – Cloud Panther, stepped down from the position of Ugu to focus all her attention and resources as President of our 501C3 Non-profit. She felt it was her path to focus on the legal issues at hand and on rectifying the loss of land base situation. Since we finally split the Tribe from the Non-profit, an officer of the Tribal Council can not serve on the Non-profit Fundraising Board, and vise versa.
Deputy Chief Jennifer Forest stepped up to fill the office of Ugu as Tsalagiyi Nvdagi law requires and she accepted the office whole heartedly. The Tsalagiyi Nvdagi Tribal Council is in full support of our new Ugu Jennifer Forest – Spirit Wolf and of our Non-profit Fundraising President Sharon Carter.
Ugu Jennifer Forest has requested that any Tribal Citizen interested in serving as our National Deputy Chief please contact her directly to throw your name in the hat. Please contact her by November 6th, 2023 to be considered.
