The Tsalagiyi Nvdagi Tribe, under the name of Texas Cherokee, signed a treaty with the Republic of Texas on February 23, 1836.

This treaty set aside the land between the Angelina, Neches, and Sabine rivers and along the Old San Antonio Road.
